CAFA’S FLAME UNITED CHERIFER FC CHAMPS AT REGIONAL STAGE QUALIFYING ROUND OF PFF SMART NATIONAL MEN’S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
Montalban, Rizal – Cavite Football Association’s (CAFA) representative to 3rd PFF Smart National Men’s Club Championship Flame United Cherifer FC defeated its arch-nemesis former 1st Runner -up in the tournaments inaugural edition, San Beda FC of Football Association of Rizal (FAR), 2 – 1, last October 5, 2013 at San Jose Elementary School Football Field, Montalban Rizal. The supposedly four (4) team qualifying stage was reduced to two (2) teams when National Capital Region and Olongapo – Zambales Football Association failed to send teams to the above mentioned annual national men’s club tournament.
Flame United Cherifer FC came in strong in the first half with several clean tries but San Beda FC’s aggressive defense repulse every attempt of the Cavite based football club which ended the first half tied at nil. The start of the second half saw a much faster San Beda FC and in the next 30 seconds San Beda eluded three (3) Cavite defenders and eventually scored over Goal Keeper Perry Camba, Jr. that put the whole Team Rizal celebrating the goal. Cherifer boys did not lose their composure and controlled the game in the next 6 minutes of the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match, Cherifer attacking midfielder no.7 Jeon Shin Sheok manage to sneak the ball after a scramble to goal and even the score at 1 – 1. With the new found strength, Flame United Cherifer FC eleven continue attacking the vaunted defense of the San Beda FC and on the 54th minute, the Rizal based strikers were penalized inside penalty area where Forward No. 19 Song Woo calmly kicked a banana type free kick to put the Flame United Cherifer FC ahead at 2 -1.
The next 30 minutes saw a very physical San Beda FC attack but always end up frustrated as Defender No.18 Chris Pino emposes his will to protect the goal. On the 89th minute, Cavite bench were almost emptied when its no. 19 striker Song Woo was pushed by San Beda defender but cooler heads prevailed and continued the game.
The game ended 2 – 1 in favor of CAFA’s Flame United Cherifer FC. The victory earned the Cavite based Flame United Cherifer FC to advance to the Final Qualifying Rounds where the champions of each group will be divided into two groups of five teams. The top two teams of the two groups will then clash in a home and away semi-finals to forge its way up to the finals.

Brent Gym, ULTRA, Pasig City –
Cavite Football Association Men’s Futsal Team finished strong 1st
Runner-up behind the eventual champion National Capital Region Pasargad FC last

TEAM CAFA U11 and U13 BOYS: PFF REGN'L FOF, AN EXPERIENCE BEYOND COMPARE
Tarlac Sports and Recreation Center, San Jose, Tarlac - Cavite Football Association (CAFA) was invited by Philippine Football Federation (PFF) to join the PFF Regional Festival Of Football hosted by Football Association of Tarlac last March 1 - 3, 2013. The aim of the festival is to scout players who will be included in the national pool of players to be sent to Malaysia mid of this year. This festival also serves as culminating activity for the grassroots program of PFF supported by PAGCOR.
CAFA responded to the invitation and immediately organized a selection process through a festival tournament last February 17, 2013. Sixteen players were selected for the U11 category and 18 players were chosen on the U13 category. The selections were composed of kids from different football clubs in Dasmarinas City, Silang, Amadeo, Gen. Trias, Bacoor City and Imus.
CAFA Delegation left for Tarlac 12:00 noontime at Dasmarinas Campus of Philippine Christian University. Together with the parents and CAFA Officials, the team arrive in Tarlac at about 4:00 pm. They were welcomed by Football Association of Tarlac headed by its president Glenn Caritativo. They were housed at Maliwalo National High School were the kids and parents had great time bonding together.
The next day March 2, 2013, the delegation proceeded to Tarlac Sports Center. This is the first day of the festival. In the morning, the players played in a skills test type of competition were scouts from PFF observed and took note of the players and their skill level. The afternoon and the next day were all festival type 11-a-side game were each player has to show case their individual talents in an official game. The rule of the tournament is that each team has two 20 minutes were they can field eight players plus three regular were they can play the wgole game. The third and final 20 minutes is where the team can field their best eleven.
CAFA U13 Team lost to Tarlac 3 - 0, Laguna 2 - 0, Olongapo 4 - 2; while CAFA U11 Team lost to Tarlac 3 - 1, Laguna 3 - 0, and Olongapo 3 - 1. Though the team lost all its games, the kids and the parents were all in high spirits as their experience were far beyond compare. Several players from CAFA were noticed for the next level.
The CAFA delegation will not be successful without the support of parents who were there all through out the festival. As of this early, CAFA supporters, benefactors, parents and players are clamoring for an early selection process to prepare for the next years Regional Festival Of Football.

CAFA's FLAME UNITED CHERIFER FC CONTINUED CINDERELLA RUN, CHAMPS AT ALL- LUZON PFF SMART NAT'L MENS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
UPLB, Los Baños, Laguna – Cavite Football Association (CAFA) made another history as the Philippine Football Federation’s first probationary member to clinch the crown of the PFF Smart National Club Championships All Luzon Finals and advance to the National Finals Round of 16, also a first in the history of the league. This was held last November 16 – 18, 2012 at UPLB Football Field in Los Baños, Laguna.
The first game against the young and talented team of Federated Football Association of Masbate saw the Flame United Cherifer FC of CAFA drawing its first blood by nailing their tough but convincing 5 – 2 win and opened the All Luzon Finals with success. CAFA scored the first goal in the early part of the game but the quick younger team from Masbate responded with 2 goals to snatch the lead but CAFA regained its composure and ended the first half with another goal to equalize the score. The second half saw the more experienced Flame United Cherifer FC dominating their younger Masbate Team counterpart to score three more goals and closed the match with a resounding 5 – 2 win. Baguio United FC of Baguio City Football Association meanwhile fashioned out similar 5 - 2 victory against the South Luzon Cluster Champion ABC Stars FC of Naga City Camarines Sur Football Association and earned the top spot as co-leader with CAFA on the standing of the tournament.
The following day is a mission day for the CAFA team as it will face the co-leader Baguio United FC and has to prove that their win in North Luzon Finals over the superior Baguio City based team is no fluke. Baguio City United is composed of skillful and physically gifted athletes. The game started with CAFA scoring the first goal in the early going. The first half showed some hard physical contacts and ended the first half with Flame United Cherifer FC leading 2 – 1. As the game continued in the second half, BCFA team became more aggressive and imposed their superior physical play and equalized the score midway the second half. CAFA adjusted their defensive game plan and became more resilient and persistent where they frustrated Baguio United's every attempt to score. The changes in game plan prove to be effective as the players from Baguio slowed down and showed signs of fatigue. CAFA’s persistency paid off and scored the clincher. CAFA's team oriented play versus individuals skills of BCFA made the difference and once again, CAFA defied the odd and prove that they can win against a power house team, 3 – 2. CAFA now topped the leaderboard with 2 wins without a loss. On the second game, Federated Football Association of Masbate battered their undermanned Bicolano brothers ABC Stars FC 6 – 0 to claim the co-second place on the standing.
On the Final day of the competition, CAFA is a win away from being crowned Champions and needs the win against ABC Stars FC of Naga City Camarines Sur Football Association in a grand fashion. This will also pit the champions of North and South Luzon. CAFA immediately scored on the 27th second of the first half and immediately set a statement. The more organized Flame United Cherifer FC defense crippled ABC Stars FC offense and ended the first half, 4 – 0. The game ended with a devastating 12 -1 victory for CAFA and virtually clinched the championship title and etched another mark in the history of the league. Earlier in the day, Baguio United FC also advanced to the National Finals Round of 16 as it earned a hard 3 -2 win against the Masbate Team and went home as runner-up of the tournament.
The participation of CAFA - Flame United Cherifer FC were supported by Cherifer, Safehouse Storage & Moving, and Real Brotarlo Real Law Firm.

_CHIEFS CHAMPS AGAIN, DROWED DOLPHINS ANEW
_
Molino, Bacoor City – The 2011 CAFA U17 Youth Football
League (YFL) championship game was a repeat of last year’s finals, only this
time, Arellano University Chiefs made it harder for Philippine Christian
University Dasmarinas – Dolphins as the Dolphins were literally crushed by the
mighty Chiefs 10 – 1 to be the repeat champs of the Annual YFL tournament.
Forward Jonel Dela Cruz of Arellano University opened with a header from
perfect cross from left wing by Jumbel Guinabang just on the 4th
minute of the game. On the 7th Minute, Dolphins Goal Keeper was
caught offguard with a 30 yard bullet like long range kick from Khristian Paul Melliza to make it an early 2 – nil for
Arellano University. Another follow-up by the Best Striker of the League Jonel
Dela Cruz on the 23rd minute kept the Dolphins defense hapless.
PCU-D’s frustration gets higher as they committed errors that eventually gave a
penalty for the Chiefs as designated kicker Best Defender Roberto Corsame converted
the penalty making it a 4 to nothing lead. The Dolphins saw some rays of hope
when the eventual best midfielder of the league, John Eric Chan converted a
penalty trimming the lead to just 3 in the 24th minute. But MVP
Roberto Orlandez, Jr. made sure that Chiefs will not give in with
PCU-D’s pressure defense by scoring 1 of his 3 goals of the game in the 27th
minute making it 5 – 1 at the end of the first half. The second half showed the
Chiefs literally dominating the Dolphins with 5 more goals by Huey Karlo Piao
on the 51st Minute, Roberto Orlandez, Jr on the 52nd and
57th minute, Angelo Guenjon on the 72nd minute and Kim
Zoren Abuel on the 77th minute to end the championship game with a masterful
10 – 1 win of Chiefs over the Dolphins. Ronilo Bayan, Jr. of Arellano
University was adjudged the Best Goal Keeper.
